Our Industrial Sponsors work with our students and faculty to provide problems of interest and suggest fruitful opportunities for innovation in artificial intelligence. A variety of engagement modes are offered. To become an Industrial Sponsor, please email Prof. Michael Shamos, Director, M.S. in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The MSAII Capstone is required for all students. They are divided into teams of 5-7 people who work on a problem provided by an outside sponsor to develop a working, innovative, AI system. The Capstone begins in September when the teams studies the business and economic implications of the sponsor's problem. The Spring term is devoted to implementation. The resulting system is provided to the sponsor under the terms of CMU's Intellectual Property Policy.
In 2019-2020, the following sponsors provided Capstone projects:
- Bank of New York Mellon
- Dorothy AI
- Sandpaper Medical (2 projects)
